Bravura Engineering is a structural engineering firm servicing the residential construction industry. Bravura focuses primarily on providing structural designs for new wood frame residential buildings and renovations.
The structural/civil drafter and designer is responsible for the structural analysis and design of components of wood frame buildings including single-family houses, row houses, and renovations. This is a full time entry level position and the successful candidate is a self-motivated, fast learner with the desire to continually learn and grow. A commitment to providing exceptional client service and developing technical expertise to deliver practical, creative solutions is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and design structural components of wood frame buildings.
- Prepare CAD designs / detailing of structural drawings; review and make redline edits to client drawings.
- Develop and utilize knowledge of requirements of applicable national/provincial building codes as well as municipal building standards and requirements, etc.
Qualifications
- Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid attention to detail and produce error-free, high quality output.
- Good skill level with general office software applications. (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- A working knowledge of CAD is a required asset.
- Ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to exercise effective judgement when handling changing needs and situations.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and versatile to work well under tight schedules.
