This position is a joint Education & Research Focused appointment between the Blakcademy and the School of Population Health, Discipline of Nursing. The position is designed to focus on developing First Peoples Nursing Education and Research in the School and Faculty. The position contributes to First Peoples educational innovation, curriculum development, career development, student experience, and academic compliance.
This position will demonstrate strong knowledge of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health, including First Peoples knowledges, cultures, strengths, and self-determining approaches to health and wellbeing, alongside the impacts of colonisation, racism, and other structural determinants of health. The role requires experience in nursing or health professional education, teaching, assessment, and curriculum design that embeds Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander knowledges, cultural capability, cultural safety, and anti-racist practice.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with First Peoples communities and partners to support culturally responsive education and contribute to equitable health outcomes.
