Responsibilities
Efficiently wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use
Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning items for cooking or plating
Support the cooking team by preparing simple menu items under supervision, following recipes and safety guidelines
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including counters, sinks, and storage spaces in compliance with food safety standards
Handle food items safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols
Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to keep the kitchen well-equipped for service
Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for staff and guests
Skills
Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key
Knowledge of basic food handling procedures and food safety practices
Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and bending frequently
Strong attention to detail when cleaning dishes, organizing supplies, and preparing ingredients
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
Familiarity with serving standards and meal presentation is a plus
Willingness to follow instructions carefully and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
