Become the Cultural Program Coordinator for the Gladue Pathways Initiative in Thompson, Manitoba, ensuring culturally responsive programming for First Nations. Utilize your expertise in Indigenous traditions, trauma-informed practices, and community engagement to support healing initiatives. This full time position offers an prospect to guide the MKO Gladue Pathways to Healing Initiative, embedding Indigenous knowledge and ceremonies into critical reports and wellness plans.
As a liaison for participants in the justice system, you will champion community healing through collaborations with Elders and local organizations. Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate culturally appropriate programming for Healing & Wellness Plans
Facilitate traditional teachings and community activities
Build relationships with justice-involved individuals and families
Provide cultural guidance and enhance community resources
Support participants in accessing services and cultural resources Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of Indigenous cultures and community protocols
Experience in mentorship and land-based programming
Robust communication and conflict-resolution skills
Familiarity with Gladue principles and trauma-informed practices
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle Effectively leverage your cultural expertise to foster resilience and healing within the MKO community.
