We're seeking an experienced garment/softlines quality inspector for on-site conformity inspections at a logistics center in Mississauga. Goods have already passed AQL inspection overseas; this is a final visual conformity check before delivery to the end client (a uniform program). Work is spread across several dates from mid-September through late November, ranging from single days to near-full-time stretches.
Responsibilities
Perform in office visual conformity checks of finished garments against an approved black-seal (original) sample and technical file, both provided at the inspection site.
Randomly open cartons and verify goods match the black-seal for appearance, color, construction, labeling, and workmanship.
Check functionality of items such as clips, bags, and closures.
Perform random apparel measurement checks against spec.
Follow the agreed sampling quantity per product (confirmed ahead of each visit).
Document findings and report defects clearly.
Product range Ties, tie-clips, scarves, belts,
polo shirts and knit tops, blazers, pants, aprons, caps, skirts, windbreakers, shirts, blouses, sweaters, jackets, parkas, beanies, pouches, bags/satchels.
Requirements
Based in the Greater Toronto Area (Mississauga/Toronto) — this is in office, non-remote work.
Prior experience inspecting garments/softlines (apparel, accessories, bags).
Familiarity with AQL sampling, black-seal/approved-sample conformity checks, and apparel measurement.
Own basic inspection tools (measuring tape, etc.).
Reliable, detail-oriented, able to produce a explicit inspection report.
Eligible to work in Canada.
