Join the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) as a Crown Attorney in the Western Region of Nova Scotia. As a committed Crown Attorney, you will represent the Crown in critical criminal and quasi-criminal matters.
This role demands a solid understanding of criminal law and procedures, derived from at least one year of litigation experience. You will support law enforcement agencies and make impactful decisions as you navigate the challenges of prosecution in a diverse and inclusive workplace. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct prosecutions in Provincial/Territorial courts
Advise law enforcement agencies on legal matters
Handle appeals and various criminal cases
Commit to skilled ethics and community engagement
Travel throughout Nova Scotia as required
Requirements:
Active member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society
Minimum one year of criminal litigation experience
Thorough knowledge of evidence and criminal procedures
Competence in conducting court proceedings
Willingness to travel for court obligations
