Grande Yellowhead Public School Division (GYPSD) is currently seeking one (1) Full-Time (1.0 FTE), 10 Month - Occupational Therapist commencing as soon as mutually agreed upon.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management to students across the Division. The successful candidate will assist school teams to develop strategies and action plans to strengthen inclusive practices and better meet the diverse learning needs of all students.

Duties Of The Occupational Therapist Will Include

Provide universal, targeted and individualized supports and services as a member of the School Linked Team.

Provide a flexible approach to service delivery adjusting to the diverse and changing needs of the child and family.

Administer, score and interpret standardized occupational therapy assessments

Contribute to student Individualized Support Plan (ISP) development and program planning

Support and develop a strength-based model of services

Supervise and provide direction to Therapy Aides and school educational assistants

Facilitate professional development for parents, teachers and educational assistants

Support and observe students as part of the multi-disciplinary team





Work collaboratively with the Division and School Based Teams and professional agencies.

Travel to all five zones within the school Division is required

Preference Will Be Given To Applicants Who Possess

Master’s or Bachelor’s of Science in Occupational Therapy

Membership or be eligible to register with Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)

Experience with the school-age population is preferred

Ability to apply knowledge of principles, guidelines, concepts and procedures related to occupational therapy programming in educational settings

Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills

Robust written and oral communication skills

Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
