Responsibilities
The IT Event Management Analyst supports the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of IT Event Management standards, frameworks, and processes for IT infrastructure operations and application management. Ensures the proactive monitoring and reporting of infrastructure and application system events to prevent service disruptions and support TransLink’s enterprise business operations and promotes awareness, understanding, and adoption of event management practices across the organization. The role operates enterprise monitoring and alerting tools to support real‑time visibility of infrastructure and application health across the organization and acts as a first and second-line operational function, responsible for the timely detection, assessment, and escalation of system‑generated events impacting IT services.

Duties And Responsibilities

Provides operational response to systems, processes, and operations to ensure they are functioning efficiently. Proactively identifying potential issues and taking preventative action to avoid service disruption.

Continuously monitor enterprise monitoring tools to detect and assess system‑generated events across infrastructure, applications, cloud services, and networks.

Identifies opportunities to improve event detection, thresholds, and response effectiveness.

Provides feedback on monitoring gaps, recurring alerts, and service visibility issues.

Supports the implementation and integration of third‑party monitoring & event management tools.

Contributes to operational trend reporting on system and tool performance and provides recommendations for continual improvement.





Provides technical support and troubleshooting assistance to users as it relates to proactive monitoring tools and solutions in a complex technical environment.

Ensures adherence to data management and security protocols.

Operates enterprise monitoring and alerting tools to support real‑time visibility of infrastructure and application health across the organization to achieved timely detection, assessment, and escalation of system‑generated events impacting IT services.

Uses system‑generated events to identify event correlation.

Establishes and maintains automated alerting protocols to enable timely detection and response.

Aligns with established ITSM practices for the reporting of events impacting enterprise services to ensure timely resolution through the incident and problem practices.

Supports the development of event dashboards, protocols and thresholds for proactive system health monitoring.

Supports the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of IT Event Management standards, frameworks, and processes for IT infrastructure operations and application management by:

Collaborating with various IT departments in supporting the overall delivery of IT Event Management Services.

Researching for best practices, identifying service gaps, analysing the process applying process improvement methodologies and recommending the best monitoring solutions.

Recommending service modifications, enhancements and providing proposals for technical stakeholders.

Participates in working group session with IT peers to review Event Management opportunities; developing appropriate technical documentation and required reporting.

Applies technical and business expertise to maximise the use of available Event Management process and technology by:

Maintaining technical currency by researching market trends on technological advances and industry standards and researching solutions to issues and technical challenges.

Conducting trend analysis to identify repeated incidents of a similar nature to recommend problem management.





Connecting with vendors and industry peers to stay up to date with industry standards.

Performs related duties as assigned, such being items of a minor nature that do not affect the value of the job.

Education
A diploma in management information systems / computer science.

Qualifications
Certification in ITIL foundation is required.

Experience
Three (3) years recent related experience in configuring, deploying and supporting various monitoring products in a complex enterprise environment. A further period of up to 1 year is required in the position to become familiar with TransLink’s technology infrastructure and service standards. Working experience delivering optimal solutions that drive efficiency for new and existing applications and services through effective Event Management and monitoring. Expert knowledge of monitoring infrastructure and applications system events, detection and automation. Knowledge of ITSM standards and frameworks. Strong customer focus and engagement skills, delivering services that support clients and business partners. Advanced analytical skills and technical judgment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Work Schedule
37.5 hours per week.

Work Designation
Hybrid – This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.

Rate of Pay
Salary $8,236 - $9,896 per month (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity). The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Dental, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan.
