Friends Cafe is looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic team member who enjoys working with people and takes pride in quality food and coffee. As a Café Team Member, you'll help create a welcoming experience for every customer while preparing specialty beverages, fresh food, and our daily baked goods, including muffins. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to develop skills across all areas of café operations.
Responsibilities
Welcome customers and provide friendly, attentive service.
Prepare espresso beverages, coffee, tea, and other menu items to café standards.
Bake fresh muffins and assist with preparing baked goods and light meals.
Prepare sandwiches, soups, and other food items with care and consistency.
Operate the POS system and process cash and card payments accurately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace procedures.
Qualifications
Previous café, bakery, or food service experience is an asset but not required.
An interest in baking and food preparation is highly valued.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced setting.
Robust attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Basic math skills and confidence handling cash.
Flexible availability, including weekends and mornings.
