Elevate your legal career as a Bilingual Legal Counsel with the Association of Justice Counsel in Ottawa. Join a small, agile team dedicated to improving conditions for over 3,500 federal public service lawyers. In this full time role, you will support the Director of Representation Services by providing valuable legal advice.
Your expertise in federal labour law and human rights will be essential as you represent the AJC in various procedures and meetings. Engage with stakeholders to uphold the rights of union members while focusing on equity and diversity. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct legal research and draft submissions
Represent the AJC before labour relations boards
Advise on exclusion of members from the bargaining unit
Draft legal opinions on federal government policies
Participate in labor-management meetings and reporting Requirements:
Membership in positive standing with Ontario Bar
Minimum 3 years'
experience in federal labour law
Familiarity with FPSLREB procedures
Knowledge of union representation principles
Proficient in MS Office and bilingual in French and English Make an impact in federal public service law with the AJC as you advocate for equitable working conditions.
