This permanent role is part of Vale Base Metals' Geotechnical Office's Geomechanics Studies team. The Senior Engineer will lead analyses that impact both open pit and underground mining operations in Canada and Brazil. Focus areas include risk management, cooperative teamwork, and delivering effective technical reviews.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct geomechanical analyses supporting Life-of-Mine plans
Maintain geomechanical models and excavation parameters
Deliver secure and practical mine designs integrating diverse data
Assess risks and establish safety measures for production
Mentor and support junior geomechanical specialists
Requirements:
Degree in Geomechanics, Mining Engineering, or similar
Registered or eligible for P. Eng. designation in Canada
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Proficient with mining geomechanics tools
Excellent analytical and communication abilities
Enhance operational effectiveness in mining while ensuring safety and compliance at Vale Base Metals.
