Join the University of Toronto Mississauga as a 3rd Class Building Engineer, focusing on the secure operation and maintenance of utilities equipment. Contribute to productive campus facilities management while ensuring top-notch service and equipment oversight. This full time role reports to the Assistant Manager Utilities & Elevator Services and includes responsibilities such as performing routine inspections and maintenance on mechanical systems.

You will manage the Central Utilities Plant’s operation and respond to emergency situations throughout the UTM campus. If you have mechanical expertise and a service-oriented mindset, this is the right fit for you. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine mechanical inspections and temperature checks
Perform running maintenance and emergency repairs




Maintain logs of equipment operations and breakdowns
Oversee fire alarm and emergency lighting testing
Collaborate with outside contractors on repairs Requirements:
High School diploma plus 3rd Class Operating Engineer Certification
Minimum 1 year operating engineer experience
Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems
Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerized control systems Apply your engineering skills effectively while ensuring the safety and comfort of the UTM community.
