We, at Leggett & Platt Incorporated, are searching for a Customs Analyst within our Operations team to help support our Automotive business. We are the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers, and a tier one and two supplier within the automotive industry. Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Motors, Actuators and Massage Systems.

Customs Analyst is responsible for ensuring that imported and exported goods comply with customs regulations, trade laws, and company policies. They analyze shipment documentation, classify products using tariff codes, calculate duties and taxes, and support efficient cross‑border trade operations.

Key Responsibilities

Review import and export documentation for accuracy and compliance.

Organize and coordinate all parcel services (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.).

Handle all customs activities as needed, including trade‑master paperwork for dunnage daily and for import or export shipments.

Support Corporate Logistics with yearly NAFTA, CUSMA, USMCA compliance.

Support investigations with CBSA – Canada Border Services Agency (CARM).

Understand the Harmonized System and classify products using HS tariff codes.

Conduct audits of customs transactions and maintain accurate records.





Prepare reports and analyze customs‑related data to identify risks, cost savings, and process improvements.

Collaborate with customs brokers, carriers, government agencies, suppliers, and internal departments.

Fulfill assigned primary, secondary, and/or tertiary deputy/back‑up roles as required by the business.

Qualifications

Professional certification CCS (Certified Customs Specialist).

5+ years of experience with Canadian and international customs, including HS codes, tariff codes and bonded shipments.

2 years of experience in the automotive industry.

Knowledge of C‑TPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism).

Very good command of MS Office and ERP systems usage.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Ability to work in teams.

Very good written and verbal communication skills in English.

High accuracy in documentation, data entry and customs record keeping.

Compensation and Advantages
Salary ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 based on experience. In addition, we offer benefits including prescription, dental, optical, a company‑sponsored registered pension plan, optional RRSP, and more.
