Transform lives as a Métis Justice Systems Navigator in Grande Prairie. This full-time role provides an opportunity to advocate for Métis Albertans, ensuring they are adequately supported within the justice system.
As part of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, you'll guide clients and help them overcome legal barriers, drawing on your expertise in the Canadian legal system. Your role includes advocacy, documenting client interactions, and collaborating with various stakeholders to promote justice awareness and accessibility for Métis people.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide assistance in navigating justice challenges
• Maintain organized and up-to-date client documentation
• Represent clients in legal and court settings
• Track program statistics and prepare reports
• Build rapport with clients and partners
Requirements:
• Relevant degree/diploma in social work or justice fields
• Minimum of two years’ experience in related roles
• Knowledge of Métis history and legal issues
• Robust problem-solving and interpersonal skills
• Experience in trauma-informed care preferred
