The University of Toronto invites applications for a tenure-stream Assistant Professor in African and/or Caribbean Francophone Literature, starting July 1, 2027. This position seeks individuals with excellence in teaching and research.
Candidates must possess a PhD in Francophone Literature or related fields such as Cultural Studies, Media Studies, Gender Studies, or Digital Humanities. A strong record in research and teaching French language courses is essential. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds to enrich our academic community.

• Conduct creative, independent research
• Establish a competitive, externally funded research program
• Teach and supervise graduate students

Caribbean, and Diaspora Studies Centers

Requirements:
• PhD by appointment date
• Evidence of research excellence in top journals
• Commitment to excellent pedagogical inquiry
• Native or near-native French fluency; strong English command
• Endorsements from referees reflecting excellence
