Product Designer (UX/UI) – Digital Experience & Platform Innovation

12-Month Contract | Hybrid | Financial Services

Location: Toronto (2/3 days per week)

Hourly Pay Rates:

T4: 45-53

IC: 55-62

Role Focus:

Platform Resiliency & Digital Experience

This product stream is focused on enhancing a leading digital investment platform through continuous optimization, modernization, and regulatory improvements. The team is dedicated to solving customer pain points, improving usability, and creating secure, intuitive experiences that empower clients to confidently manage and protect their investments.

As a Product Designer, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Client Experience, User Research, Content Design, Product Management, and Business Analysis to:

- Identify usability challenges, experience gaps, and emerging customer needs using research, customer feedback, analytics, and business insights.
- Transform qualitative and quantitative findings into intuitive design solutions that improve both customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
- Enhance platform experiences by refining user flows, interaction patterns, and UI components to deliver a more consistent and seamless experience.
- Design solutions that support evolving regulatory requirements, compliance initiatives, and operational enhancements.
- Contribute to trust and security initiatives by designing experiences related to fraud prevention, authentication, account management, notifications, and other security-focused features.
- Drive continuous product enhancements that improve platform performance, operational efficiency, and overall customer confidence.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Product Designer, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of the platform by:

- Designing intuitive, engaging, and accessible experiences across web and mobile applications.
- Identifying customer pain points and usability opportunities through user research, analytics, business insights, and customer feedback.




- Transforming qualitative and quantitative insights into thoughtful UX/UI solutions that improve customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
- Creating end-to-end design deliverables including:
- User journeys
- User flows
- Wireframes
- Interactive prototypes
- High-fidelity mockups
- Final UI designs
- Refining existing experiences and evolving design patterns to improve consistency across the product ecosystem.
- Supporting platform modernization initiatives, regulatory enhancements, and operational improvements.
- Designing experiences related to account management, authentication, notifications, fraud prevention, trust, and security.
- Rapidly prototyping concepts and validating ideas through usability testing and customer feedback.
- Applying design systems, accessibility standards, and UX best practices to create scalable experiences.
- Presenting design concepts and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Developers, Researchers, Content Designers, Client Experience teams, and Business Analysts throughout the product lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

- 4–7+ years of Product Design, UX Design, or UI Design experience.
- Experience designing customer-facing web and mobile applications.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX/UI design work.
- Deep understanding of:
- User Experience (UX)
- User Interface (UI)
- User-Centered Design
- Design Thinking
- Interaction Design
- Visual Design
- Experience working in Agile product teams.
- Proficiency with design tools such as:
- Figma
- Sketch
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Axure
- InVision (or similar tools)
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced workplace.

Nice-to-Have

- Experience within banking, fintech, wealth management, or financial services.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Understanding of responsive design principles.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience contributing to or maintaining design systems.
