Siv-ik Planning & Design is seeking an experienced Urban Planner to join our growing team in London, Ontario—one of Canada's fastest-growing metropolitan areas. As an Intermediate Urban Planner, you will play an important role in advancing a diverse portfolio of development projects across Southwestern Ontario. Working closely with the firm's partners and senior staff, you will provide planning advice to clients, manage development applications, and contribute to shaping communities through innovative and thoughtful planning solutions.

The successful candidate will manage projects through all stages of the development approvals process, including due diligence, planning analysis, development approvals, stakeholder engagement, and implementation. You will work collaboratively with clients, municipal staff, approval agencies, and multidisciplinary consultant teams to deliver high-quality planning outcomes while building strong professional relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

This role requires a motivated professional who is comfortable managing multiple projects, exercising sound professional judgment, and working both independently and collaboratively within a energetic consulting environment. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering exceptional client service while contributing to the continued success and collaborative culture of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a variety of land development and community planning projects from initiation through municipal approvals.

Prepare planning reports and applications, including Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Draft Plans of Subdivision and Condominium,



Site Plan Applications, Minor Variances, Consents, and other development approval applications as required.

Conduct planning policy analysis and provide planning advice to clients.

Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams to ensure timely project delivery.

Liaise with municipal staff, government agencies, and stakeholders throughout the approvals process.

Attend and present at public meetings, Committee of Adjustment hearings, Council meetings, open houses, and client meetings.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, municipal staff, and project stakeholders.

Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and on schedule.

Qualifications

Degree in Urban Planning or a related discipline.

Registered Professional Planner (RPP), or eligible for full membership with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) and the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP).

Approximately 5–8 years of progressively responsible planning experience.

Strong understanding of Ontario's Planning Act, Provincial Planning Statement, municipal planning policy, and development approvals processes.

Demonstrated experience managing development applications and navigating municipal approval processes in Ontario.

Private consulting experience is an asset.

Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision while exercising sound professional judgment.

Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and project management skills.

Valid Ontario driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout Southwestern Ontario.
