Job Description
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Quality Improvement Consultant, Quality and Patient Safety. Reporting to the Director, Quality, Experience and Patient Safety and working collaboratively with the Medical Director, the Senior Quality Improvement Consultant, the QI Consultant will act as an internal consultant and hands-on change agent, supporting complex quality improvement, patient safety, and operational excellence initiatives.

Responsibilities
The QI Consultant will work alongside the clinical care leaders to apply Lean and improvement science methodologies to translate data, patient and family feedback, and incident learning into sustainable improvements across CAMH. The QI Consultant will lead medium to large-scale quality improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and improvement science methodologies. They will apply value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and PDSA cycles to improve care processes and outcomes. The role will ensure improvements are measurable, sustainable, and aligned with CAMH strategic priorities. They will support coaching clinical and operational leaders and frontline teams in quality improvement methods, support delivery of education through CAMH’s Quality Training Academy and improvement programs and build internal capability to support sustained improvement beyond individual projects.

The QI Consultant will support the Senior Quality Improvement Consultant and the Data & Insights team to define meaningful measures and analyze performance data, develop dashboards, reports, and visual management tools to track progress and outcomes. They will act as an internal consultant to clinical programs and corporate partners, facilitate cross-functional collaboration and influence change, preparing briefing materials and presentations for leadership and governance committees, as required.

Qualifications




Registration with a regulated health professional college is not required; being a regulated health professional is considered an asset.

Certification in healthcare quality or patient safety training is an asset.

1-3 years of demonstrated experience in project management, quality improvement, or process improvement roles.

Experience in facilitating process mapping, workflow design and applying Lean improvement initiatives in healthcare or complex public-sector environments.

Robust facilitation, analytical, and change management skills.

Experience in a mental health and addictions setting may be an asset.

Demonstrated knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Model for Improvement, PDSA methodology and healthcare quality improvement best practices.

Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and stakeholders.

Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Demonstrated skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders in the community on behalf of CAMH, demonstrated sensitivity to the principles of diversity and culture, the ability to challenge and to motivate others and the ability to forge strong relationships with staff and the clients they serve are required.

Excellent Computer skills (Access, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Outlook, Feedback Monitor Pro, etc) and an understanding of databases are essential.

Demonstrated ability in oral presentation, data analysis and report generation and report-writing skills

Demonstrated awareness and adherence to established standards of professional practice and personal conduct

Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is an asset.

Salary is competitive and based on experience, with a hiring range of $85,682.95 – $107,103.68per year.





Employees in this role may progress within the full pay range of $85,682.95 – $128,524.42 per year
