Job Title: Payroll Specialist

What you will be doing:
Support full-cycle payroll processing, including journal entry review, quarterly and year-end reconciliation and reporting activities.
Manage payroll actions across the employee lifecycle, including setup for new hires, transfers, and processing of final pay.
Serve as the primary contact for payroll and time-tracking inquiries, delivering timely support to employees and cross-functional partners.
Administer statutory and compliance requirements such as garnishment orders, Employer Health Tax filings, Workers’ Compensation reporting, and all related remittances.
Reconcile payroll remittances to government agencies and local tax authorities and coordinate with Finance AP on payroll-related payments and reconciliations.
Support payroll audits, reporting needs, and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance service quality.
Prepare ad hoc payroll reports and perform other payroll-related tasks as assigned.
What you must have:
Completion of PayrollOrg Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or National Payroll Institute Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation.
Minimum 3 years of payroll experience with an integrated HR/payroll platform; Workday Payroll experience is an asset.




Hands-on experience processing full-cycle, multi-state US payroll, including all year-end activities.
A diploma or degree in Finance, Human Resources, Business, or related field is preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Solid understanding of payroll-related recordkeeping requirements to ensure regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with foundational accounting knowledge, are considered an asset.
Robust attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical/problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and handle competing priorities.
Exercises sound judgment and discretion in managing confidential information.
Salary/Rate Range: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00
