Assist in shaping future architects as a Sessional Instructional Assistant at the University of Toronto. Focus on guiding students in their understanding of site through an interdisciplinary lens.
This appointment runs from September 1 to December 31, 2026, within the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design. The instructional assistant will aid in guiding students through their research and documentation processes, leveraging audio-visual materials and scholarly references. Engaging with 35 students, you will assess their understanding and articulation of course content throughout the semester.
Key Responsibilities:
• Guide students in selecting frameworks and materials
• Annotate and grade assignments to assess understanding
• Facilitate discussions around site-specific worldviews
• Help students develop their research design questions
• Participate in the evaluation of final research reports
Requirements:
• PhD candidate in Humanities or Social Science
• Minimum grade of A in relevant courses
• Experience with academic assessment
• Robust communication and organizational skills
• Awareness of equity-deserving group considerations
