THE PROSPECT: HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT
Build your skills and expand your HR repertoire as a member of our Staffing team. Reporting to the Manager - Staffing, you will be an important team member performing administrative support for the district’s Staffing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting the Staffing team
Performing search functions and data entry in PeopleSoft and other platforms
Administering assessments as required
Generating and updating job postings as required
Maintaining committee minutes
Preparing and processing correspondence, including forms, memos, emails, appointment letters, etc.
Distributing and following up on employee performance reviews
Maintaining employee files/records both manually and via PeopleSoft and other platforms
Assisting with various activities, events, meetings and projects as required
Ensuring the appropriate preparation, completion, distribution and filing of Employee Services documentation
Handling inquiries regarding Employee Services procedures, policy, regulations, and the collective agreements of various employee groups
Assuming other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of post-secondary education in Human Resources or Business Administration plus a minimum 1 year of administrative experience, preferably within the Human Resources field
QUALIFICATIONS
Outstanding organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable ability to work with colleagues and employees from throughout the organization in a positive and solutions-oriented manner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate MS Office Skills (e.g., Word, Excel, Team, Sharepoint)
Work independently and effectively in a high-paced, open-office environment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals throughout the organization
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Demonstrate tactfulness sensitivity,
professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
Demonstrate flexibility with respect to juggling and meeting priorities, work schedule, etc.
Good research skills and the ability to compile and summarize information received
PeopleSoft experience an asset
COMPENSATION
The salary for this position is $71,633 to 84,274 plus a comprehensive benefits package, including, Municipal Pension Plan, Vancouver Employee Savings Plan, Extended Health, Dental, Group Life, Long Term Disability, Vacation, Gratuity, and potential Compensatory time.
This position is 100% in-person/in-office at the VSB Education Centre (1580 West Broadway)
