Job Summary
The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment at the recycling plant, including forklifts and balers as directed by Supervisors. This role supports daily operations by moving bins and bales, assisting with shipping and receiving, and completing required equipment inspections and documentation. Duties are performed in a noisy environment and in all types of weather conditions. This position reports to the Plant Manager. This position will support the new contract starting in July 2026.
Position Description
Secure and efficient operation of a Forklift or Baler
Moving bins, bales and shipping/receiving
Daily inspection of equipment and documentation of daily inspection
Communicate with Supervisors and Management regarding concerns or suggestions
All other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
Certified and trained to operate a Forklift or Baler
Experience in the waste and recycling industry an asset
Strong customer service orientation
Able to perform the physical requirements of the position
Ability to speak, read and write in English
Must be available for overtime work
