The Housing Support Worker reports to the Site Supervisor and Team Lead, directly assisting clients in identifying their needs and risks. Your responsibilities will include conducting counseling sessions, supporting residents in goal achievement, and handling crises such as medical emergencies. By utilizing a team approach, you'll help create a nurturing workplace that embodies Our Place Society's values of hope, belonging, and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct individual counseling and wellness checks
• Develop resident support plans collaboratively
• Distribute essential supplies and meals
• Assist with intake and new resident introductions
• Maintain accurate records and respond to crises
Requirements:
• Diploma in social service or related field
• Minimum one year of relevant experience
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of harm reduction techniques
• Ability to work in challenging environments
