Maintenance Manager — Automotive Manufacturing

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance and facilties Manager to lead the maintenance operations of a fast-paced manufacturing facility in the Kitchener area. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong background in automotive manufacturing or metal processing environments, who can drive reliability, safety, and continuous improvement across a large maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage a team of approximately 20 millwrights and electricians, overseeing scheduling, performance, training, and development
- Direct all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across production equipment and facility infrastructure
- Partner with production, engineering, and EHS teams to minimize downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and capital equipment planning
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations




- Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime
- Manage relationships with external contractors and equipment vendors
- Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of new equipment

Qualifications

- Minimum 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including supervisory/management experience
- Prior experience in automotive manufacturing or metal processing (stamping, welding, machining, or similar) required
- Proven track record managing a team of 15–20+ millwrights, electricians, or skilled trades
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Millwright or Electrician trade certification an asset
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to be on-site in the Kitchener, ON area
