Big Country Equipment is seeking experienced Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians for their Sparwood, BC location. Technicians will work on a variety of heavy equipment in mining and construction environments, with company-provided housing and paid flights from anywhere in Canada. The ideal candidate is a Red Seal Journeyman with strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to safety and professionalism.

Base rate: $62.50/hr

14x14 schedule, 12-hour days

Night shift premium: $1.25/hr

What You’ll Need





Minimum 3 years recent experience with off-road construction and mining equipment

Journeyman Heavy Duty Off-Road Technician certification

Red Seal required

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Proficiency in English (verbal and written)

Ability to lift 50 lbs comfortably

Pass 8-panel drug test (including marijuana) and alcohol breath test

Clean 5-year driver’s abstract

Pass criminal record check

Provide 2 direct supervisor references

What Will Make You Stand Out

Experience with mining equipment (preferred)

Experience with Hitachi, Komatsu, CAT, and John Deere brands

Experience with surface drills and electric/hydraulic shovels
