Position Overview: At Finning Canada, we are seeking two permanent, full-time Technical Service Representatives (TSRs) to support our customer in Elkford focusing on 797 F mining trucks. In this customer-focused role, you will build strong internal and external relationships while providing technical expertise to maximize equipment reliability, availability, and performance. You will serve as a trusted advisor, helping customers optimize the repair and maintenance of Caterpillar mining equipment in accordance with OEM standards and best practices.
Working closely with internal teams and various stakeholders, you will proactively identify equipment issues, recommend solutions, and support long-term maintenance planning to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency. Direct engagement with our customers will be required to support technical discussions and repair planning.
You will be working on the customer site in Elkford on a 7x7 continuous shift schedule.
The expected salary range for this position is between $110k - $120k. Actual salary will be based on the successful candidate’s experience.
Job Description: Develop and maintain strongstakeholderrelationships through regularshop and job-facevisits and ongoing communication.
Schedulestakeholdermeetings, establish agendas, and provideaccurate reporting of events and findings
Conduct technical audits and equipment assessments to identify performance, reliability, and maintenance opportunities.
Analyze equipment condition and providestakeholderswith technical recommendations, service options, and component replacement strategies.
Collaborate with Finning’s Parts,
Service, and Operations teams to ensure timely delivery of parts and support services.
Evaluatemachine health and supportstakeholdersin achieving equipmentrepair goals and outcomes.
Provide timely technical analysis, troubleshooting assistance, and resolution ofstakeholderconcerns.
Escalatemachine-downor repair criticalsituations to the appropriate internal stakeholders to ensure rapid response and resolution.
Recommend safety, maintenance, and operational improvements that enhance equipment performance and reliability.
Maintain detailed records of technical issues, solutions, and machine history to support continuous improvement.
Ensure approximately 80% of work time is spent directly supportingservice operations and improvement project teams
Foster robust communication and collaboration across departments to deliver exceptionalcustomertechnicalsupport.
Qualifications: Technical Knowledge Strong knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and mining applications.
Sound mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.
Understanding of equipment maintenance, component life cycles, and reliability principles.
Experience Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) designation preferred, or equivalent extensive mechanical experience.
Minimum 5 years of mining, heavy equipment, or related industry experience.
Previous experience in a customer-facing technical support, service, or maintenance role.
