Overview
Seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support capital projects within refinery, chemical plant, and pipeline environments. This role requires regular field presence to conduct site walks, monitor construction progress, and ensure project execution aligns with safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives. The Project Engineer will also provide backup support to the Project Manager as needed.
Responsibilities
Conduct field walks and site inspections to monitor project progress.
Support ITT development, bid evaluations, and contractor selection.
Coordinate procurement activities for long-lead equipment.
Develop and manage EMCAPS Gate 3 deliverables and Functional Interaction Plans.
Coordinate project issue resolution and change management processes.
Ensure assigned project scope is executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Verify engineering and construction activities comply with project specifications and standards.
Serve as the primary interface between project teams and contractors.
Support transitions between engineering, construction, commissioning, and startup phases.
Assist the Project Management Team (PMT) in implementing project management systems and processes.
Provide technical engineering support and backup project management support when required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
7-15 years of project engineering, construction engineering, or systems completion experience.
Experience working in brownfield operating facilities.
Experience supporting pipeline projects.
Experience in refinery, petrochemical, or chemical plant environments.
Ability and willingness to perform regular field visits and site walks.
Strong understanding of engineering standards, construction practices, and project execution processes.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced workplace.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
Experience with structural reinforcement or stiffening projects.
Familiarity with ExxonMobil project management systems (EMCAPS).
Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and systems completion activities.
