JOB OVERVIEW
The Technical Writer is responsible for maintaining/updating various KF Aerospace manuals and the development of current and supplemental documents for current and future design projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Produce OEM manual updates for the Convair CV580 airplane that include: Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogues, Flight Manuals, and Service Bulletins
Produce stand-alone supplements to support modification/installations on various aircraft types
Maintain good records of publications production
Maintain control of manual revision status
JOB REQUIREMENTS Knowledge & Skills Avionics experience would be a definite asset
Work from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and other source data
Interpret OEM avionic documentation into usable text for maintenance and operational manuals
Write in AECMA Simplified English
Use FrameMaker desk-top publishing software
Use Access to produce illustrated parts catalogue databases
Use illustration software for annotating illustrated parts list and other illustrations
Familiar with ATA 100 and other aerospace publication specifications
Familiarity with SGML documentation an asset
Produce linked documents in Acrobat for intranet publication

Good interview skills: i.e. when speaking with engineers or pilots, be able to interpret their requirements into usable text

SALARY
The wage band is KF level 9 $74,580-$93,225. The expertise and technical skill level of the candidate is assessed during the selection process for placement within the band. Note: The salary range maximum signifies full job knowledge.
