Position: Heavy Equipment Mechanic Shop Foreman
Location: Toronto, ON
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Pay: $34.00–$37.00 hourly (based on experience)

As a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in quality workmanship and mentoring junior mechanics, you will be a key member of the Service team. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic Foreman plays a vital role in keeping our rental fleet and customer equipment operating safely, reliably, and effectively.
What You’ll Be Doing
Communicate with the service manager to coordinate tasks and oversee the activities of the department.
Maintain accurate records of repair times and quality of work being performed.
Accurately review work orders, and parts requests to ensure repairs are being performed in accordance with quality standards.
Prepare and present accurate repair quotes to customers in a timely manner.
Lead and mentor mechanics and QA staff through technical support and other teaching methods.
Act as a technical advisor on major repairs when needed and provide support to mechanics with respect to troubleshooting, and repair best practices. Assist mechanics with repairs when needed.
Ensure technicians are keeping up with their production goals and expectations.
Provide production, safety and updated work order reports to the service manager daily.
Help train,
support and emphasize company initiatives with respect to bettering our repair and turnaround times.
Work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure timely repairs and service delivery.
Collaborate seamlessly with your colleagues to create a supportive and efficient work environment.
Follow all workplace safety protocols and environmentally sound practices, ensuring everyone stays safe.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.
Ensure all team members are adhering to safety policies and procedures.
Help integrate recent mechanics into the shop and ensure they follow existing procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
Mechanical Experience:
A licensed Heavy Equipment Mechanic (421A, 310T) with strong diagnostic and failure analysis skills. Hands‑on experience repairing and maintaining a wide range of construction equipment including Genie, Skyjack and CAT.
A Proven Leader: Previous supervisory and leadership experience.
Customer Service Oriented: Excellent communication skills and a knack for making customers feel valued.
Organization Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage daily schedules, coordinate materials and equipment and monitor inventory.
Computer Skills: Strong computer skills and familiarity with Cat systems (ET and SIS would be considered an asset).
Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team environment with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision.
Independent Worker: Ability to work independently with excellent time management and organizational skills.
Endurance: Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly up to 50lbs.
Safety Focused: A strong commitment to safe work practices, environmental responsibility, and Battlefield’s health and safety policies.
A technical understanding of CAT equipment would be considered an asset.
A Licensed Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Preferred)
Flexibility to support on-call schedules and adapt to business demands.
Hydraulic system knowledge
Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized shop environment.
Ownership of personal tools required for the role.
