Overview
The Assoc Welding Engineering Technician is responsible for assisting with the oversight of Welding/Quality Assurance and Quality Control (Weld/QA/QC) functions for projects.
Responsibilities
Assist with the execution of Weld/QA/QC activities on project sites within CB&I; requirements.
Assist with the development of the Weld/QA/QC project deliverables including Quality plans, Inspection and test plans, weld procedures, weld maps, welder qualifications, NDE, PWHT.
Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of welding equipment, tools and supplies.
Assist field personnel including NDE subcontractors, weld supervisors and regulatory bodies with Weld/QA/QC activities.
Utilize communication skills appropriate to the workplace.
Collaborate with other departments as necessary to accurately produce W/QA/QC deliverables per applicable work instructions (ie: reports, plans, etc.)
Local Requirements
Must be able to travel across Canada and to the US
Qualifications
0 to 2 years of experience in welding is preferred.
Diploma in Welding Engineering Technology.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Skills and Behaviors
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of weld processes including: SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, EGW, Oxy-Acetylene & Plasma Cutting.
