The overall objective of the Reliability Manager is to ensure the reliable and safe operation of air separation, hydrogen and other industrial gas production facilities at the lowest life cycle cost across Canada. The candidate will be expected to work independently and make decisions and recommendations as needed, in consultation with appropriate engineering and operations resources.
What you will enjoy doing*
In this role, you'd be leading the reliability and maintenance team, making sure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
You'd be the go-to person for equipment reliability, ensuring asset issues are responded to quickly and effectively to minimize downtime
A big focus is planning and executing plant outages and maintenance activities while keeping costs and budgets under control
You'll drive reliability programs like preventive and predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, spare parts management, and effective use of the EAM system
We're looking for someone who is always identifying opportunities to improve safety, reliability, performance, and overall operating costs
You'll provide technical expertise on mechanical equipment, support troubleshooting and inspections, and help solve complex equipment challenges
A key part of the role is analyzing failures, leading root cause investigations, and implementing corrective actions and maintenance strategies to prevent repeat issues
You'll also lead the Mechanical Integrity program, ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, and develop and mentor the reliability team to build long-term capability
What makes you great*
We're looking for someone with a solid background in industrial operations, engineering, reliability, or maintenance, ideally with at least five (5) years of experience and some exposure to managing budgets and business performance
It would be a robust fit if you've worked with air separation or hydrogen facilities and understand the equipment, processes, and operational challenges that come with those environments
You'll need to be comfortable using maintenance and business systems like Infor EAM, JD Edwards,
or similar CMMS/ERP platforms to manage asset reliability and maintenance activities
A key part of the role is leveraging predictive maintenance tools, including vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared inspections, transformer oil testing, and partial discharge monitoring, to proactively prevent equipment failures
We're looking for someone who has hands-on experience leading emergency maintenance work and planned plant outages in a complex industrial setting
You should have a strong understanding of maintaining and troubleshooting critical equipment such as compressors, turbines, rotating equipment, motors, electrical distribution systems, and substations
Safety is a top priority, so we'd like someone who understands industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices, and who can drive continuous improvement and change initiatives
Success in this role comes from being a strong communicator and self-starter who can manage multiple priorities, work independently when needed, lead cross-functional teams, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
