Job Description
Who are you?
You are a seasoned Senior Construction Cost Estimator specializing in M&E; infrastructure and rail systems estimatingwith a minimum of8years post-graduate experience looking for the next step or are currently undertaking a comparable role in a similar environment.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, driven, and capable of working both independently and as part of ahigh-performingteam. In this impactful role, you will be providingadvice,leadership and direction, actively embedding and promoting the purpose, values, and vision of Turner & Townsend.
Job Description
As a Senior Estimator,you will be involved in:
Producing, presenting and defendingconstructioncost plans andcost estimatesforkeyinfrastructureclients developing complexengineeringprojects from feasibility/concept design up to detailed design (pre-tender estimates).
Review, validationofcost submissionsfrom General Contractor(s)within aProgressive Design Build contractual environment as part of Target Cost/Price Development.
When necessary, challenge General Contractor’s cost build-ups and associated assumptions.
Providing costings of optionsand presenting theseas part of project Optioneering stages.
Providing cost reconciliation cost estimates including associated justification to be presented to project clients and key stakeholders.
Engaging in value engineering workshops to identify the cost savings and optimum solutions available for the client.
Producing cost benchmarksfor validation and target-setting on major infrastructure projects.
Actively interfacing with project clients, key stakeholders, contractors, and consultants (engineering, etc.)providing cost adviceduring all project stages.
Working in close collaboration with high performing project teams to ensure expectations are managed adequately and clients’ goals are achieved.
Review and validation of contractor cost submissions within Progressive Design-Buildenvironment, particularly for rail systems and M&E; packages.
Qualifications
Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering / Construction Management Degree and/or Certification or equivalent.
8 - 15years’ experience in cost estimating positions across pre-contract/post-contract phases of infrastructure projects.
Membership of professional organisations is a bonus (e.g., CIQS / RICS / AACE).
Bilingual capability in English and French is considered an asset.
Strong understanding of rail systems estimating methodologies, procurement and installation approaches, and key testing, commissioning,integrationand handover cost drivers.

The base salary range for this full-time role is $95,000 - $145,000 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
