About the Opportunity As part of the One Door Chronic Disease Management Team, the Registered Dietitian uses clinical practice guidelines to provide nutrition care and education to patients/clients with a variety of clinical conditions that require nutritional intervention. The Dietitian will deliver services to a variety of patient populations including high risk groups suffering from chronic diseases and/or complex multi-system diseases. This role will also provide health education to patients with a focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management. The Dietitian is a part of the Primary Health Care Program and reports to the Primary Health Care Manager.
Please note this position provides services in Primary Health Care Centres throughout Pictou County area. A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation is required.
About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition at a recognized University required
Completion of Dietetic internship (a 1 year integrated or post graduate program) required
Licensure by Nova Scotia Regulator of Dietetics required
Certification with the Canadian Board of Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE) required (or willingness to obtain within 2 years)
Certification in insulin dose adjustment for adults required
Certification in insulin dose adjustment for pump therapies required
Minimum of two (2) years related experience required (i.e. Primary Health Care,
diabetes & chronic illness, community-based services)
Access to reliable transportation for travel for work
Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

Hours Permanent, full-time position; (75 hours bi-weekly)
Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation and Benefits $37.27 - $51.62 Hourly
