Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Team Lead (Building Engineering)

Greater Toronto Area (Hybrid) | Kitchener-Waterloo | Hamilton, Ontario

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Team Lead to establish and grow their Electrical Engineering department. This is a rare leadership opportunity for an entrepreneurial professional who enjoys building teams, leading projects, mentoring engineers, and helping shape the future of a growing multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm.

What You'll Be Doing

Establish, develop, and lead the Electrical Engineering department.

Provide technical leadership on electrical building systems projects.

Lead projects from concept through construction.

Oversee project schedules, budgets, quality, and client satisfaction.

Perform QA/QC reviews of engineering deliverables.

Design and review electrical systems including:

Power Distribution

Lighting Systems

Fire Alarm Systems

Emergency Power

Life Safety Systems

Coordinate closely with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, contractors, and clients.

Mentor Electrical Engineers, Designers, and EITs as the team grows.

Support business development and strengthen client relationships.





Develop departmental standards, best practices, and engineering processes.

Conduct occasional site visits during construction.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

P.Eng. designation (Ontario) or eligibility to obtain it.

Minimum 10 years of Building Engineering consulting experience.

Proven experience delivering electrical building systems projects from design through construction.

Solid knowledge of:

Ontario Building Code (OBC)

Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC)

Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)

Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.

Valid driver's licence.
