Interior Health is seeking a passionate and adaptable permanent part time (0.80 FTE) Rural Adult Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) Worker to join the Mental Health and Substance Use team in beautiful Grand Forks, B.C.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a compassionate, collaborative professional with strong clinical skills in mental health and substance use care. The ideal candidate is experienced in assessment, crisis intervention, and case management, and is comfortable supporting adults and older adults with complex needs, including acute and concurrent disorders. The successful candidate communicates effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams, value community partnerships, and maintain thorough documentation. Above all, we are seeking someone who is adaptable and empathetic, with a strong commitment to trauma-informed, recovery-oriented mental health care that supports emotional stability, respects client dignity, and enhances overall well-being for individuals and the communities we serve.

What Will You Work On?
The Worker functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, whose purpose is to ensure that adults with serious mental disorders and/or substance use have access to responsive, sensitive and relevant assessment and treatment services.



The program serves the adult and elderly population that experiences mental health disorders or substance use and impairment in personal, family, financial, occupational and/or social life. This includes individuals with acute psychosis, bizarre behavior, depression, anxiety, complicated grief, suicidal ideation, substance use, substance dependence and concurrent disorders.
The primary duties include intake assessment, crisis intervention, referral, case management, psychogeriatric support, collaborative community planning, psycho-education with clients and their families, and liaison with appropriate professionals. Duties include urgent response intervention to individuals in acute crisis, consultation with other care providers to identify educational needs for the community and subsequent strategies to address these needs, and to coordinate services for adults and elderly with mental health and/or substance use problems.
Scheduling Information
Shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours. Days of work are Tuesday to Friday.
