Elevate community health as a Community Nutritionist in North End Halifax. This role focuses on clinical nutrition programming and community engagement from Monday to Friday.
Reporting to the Manager of Allied Health, the Community Nutritionist develops and implements clinical nutrition programs within an interdisciplinary team. Key responsibilities include individual nutrition counseling for chronic disease management and the facilitation of community-based programs. Collaboration with a Dietetic Aide and oversight of food programs reinforces the community's nutritional support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and evaluate clinical nutrition programs
• Provide individual nutrition counseling services
• Facilitate community-based nutrition group programming
• Collaborate with Dietetic Aide on food initiatives
• Support chronic disease prevention and management
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in Applied Human Nutrition
• Licensed with Nova Scotia College of Dietitians
• 1-3 years as a Registered Dietitian
• Understanding of Afrocentric and Indigenous nutrition
• Experience with underserved communities
