Microserve is looking for an Audio-Visual Technician to join our team in Edmonton, AB. The Audio-Visual Technician will be able to work with our clients to support their AV requirements. The successful candidate will gain experience in multiple enterprise sized client environments, addressing new tasks and requests each day. Main responsibilities include performing installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable and cable management, installing connectors, mounting projectors, mounting equipment to walls and under tables, hanging heavy items from various structures.

Position Overview
Microserve is looking for an Audio-Visual Technician to join our team in Edmonton, AB. The Audio-Visual Technician will be able to work with our clients to support their AV requirements. The successful candidate will gain experience in multiple enterprise sized client environments, addressing current tasks and requests each day. Main responsibilities include performing installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable and cable management, installing connectors, mounting projectors, mounting equipment to walls and under tables, hanging heavy items from various structures.

Responsibilities

Carrying out installations. Leading smaller installs and supporting the lead installer for larger projects. Primarily installing videoconference solutions in public sector boardrooms.

Conducting service calls. Going onsite, troubleshooting a space and find solutions and workarounds.

Preventative maintenance. Visiting boardrooms, conducting health checks, taking pictures and documenting the space.

Commissioning, client orientation, documentation and Sharepoint uploading.

Use hand and power tools to mount and take down equipment.





Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.

AV rack wiring.

Test point to point functionality of systems.

Travel to various job sites as required.

Use a laptop to work with programmers. Uploading and adjusting code for installations or making tweaks to code for service calls.

Other duties assigned as needed.

Skills And Abilities

Effectively and respectfully communicate with employees, customers and colleagues

Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner

Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines

Basic computer knowledge and understanding of IP addressing and communications

Knowledge of signal flow for audio, video and control

Education And/or Experience

2+ years of audiovisual installation experience required

Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred

Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required

Additional Assets (not Required)

AVIXA CTS General Certification

Fall/Lift Protection

MTR Avixa or Microsoft Certification

Crestron Professional Installation Certification

QSC Q-SYS, any level

Any other manufacturer training (ie. Logi, Poly, Lumens, Yeaklink, Nureva)

Ability to solder

Requirements

Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (mileage is paid)

Able to work at heights and in confined spaces

Able to work with basic handheld tools

Must be able to lift 60+ lbs





Must be able to pass a criminal record check

Able to work occasionally out of town or after hours
