Make a difference as a Classroom Teacher at New Directions, delivering education and support for youth and adults. Use your skills in ELA and physical education to foster growth and healing.
As a full-time Classroom Teacher, you will facilitate grade 9 to 12 instruction aligned with the Manitoba curriculum. Engage students through energetic lesson planning and adapt to the diverse needs of learners, including those affected by trafficking. Your role supports the Honouring Our Journey program, which aims to uplift and educate participants through innovative and culturally relevant practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct engaging classroom instruction in various subjects
• Develop and review curriculum materials regularly
• Facilitate morning meetings and provide lunch supervision
• Maintain observational records and assist with IEPs
• Collaborate with teams for holistic student support
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Education degree with valid Manitoba Teacher’s Certificate
• Strong understanding of strength-based teaching methods
• Patience and empathy in handling student challenges
• First Aid/CPR and other relevant certifications preferred
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License for student transportation
