ABOUT THE CHANCE
NL Health Services – Eastern Rural Zone has four (4) full-time Family Medicine positions available at the Bonavista Peninsula Health Centre (BPHC) in Bonavista, NL.
The Bonavista Peninsula Health Centre has 10 inpatient beds including one palliative care bed, and a 12-bed Protective Care Unit. Services include 24-hour emergency services, laboratory, X-ray, diabetic education, dietitian, chemotherapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, mental health,
outpatient clinics, and inpatient services. The centre is associated with Golden Heights Manor, a 70-bed Level 3 long-term care facility.
The referral site is Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville, approximately 110 km away, offering a full range of specialist services including anesthesia, general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, psychiatry, radiology, pediatrics, and 24-hour emergency (Category A).
NL Health Services is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, and academic interests are encouraged and supported.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification in Family Medicine (or equivalent)
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
- Must satisfy credentialing and privilege requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
- Up-to-date Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide chronic disease management, long-term care, palliative care, respite care, prenatal care, minor surgery, and acute inpatient care
- Deliver emergency call and patient stabilization and transfer services
- Provide scheduled ambulatory clinics, walk-in clinics, inpatient coverage, and general practice clinics at Golden Heights Manor
- Share 24/7 on-call coverage for the emergency department and after-hours call equitably among the physician group
- Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements
REMUNERATION
Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Base Salary: CAD 225,512 – CAD 244,093
