Canada’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system operates at a provincial level, with regulations and program requirements varying across jurisdictions. Successfully managing these distinctions while aligning with national objectives is key to program success. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Recycling Services Coordinator to join our Operations team!
Responsibilities Collection Services Recruitment
Identify gaps in service, with reference to meeting accessibility commitments, targets and goals.
Research and contact potential businesses/organizations, local governments and indigenous communities to determine suitability and interest in partnering with Product Care as a collection site, collection event or direct pick-up service.
Responsible for finding replacement collection sites and events in case of collection site closures.
Responsible for identifying and securing replacement and redundant collection sites and collection events to ensure continuity of service in the event of site closures or other service disruptions
Work with collection sites with regards to retaining sites whenever possible.
Assess and make recommendations to management, including the feasibility and viability, the capital cost and funding for transportation and equipment.
Promote the Product Care programs through presentations and networking opportunities with prospective collection site providers at industry conferences and events as requested, including, but not limited to presentations focusing on the return-to-retail program and potential collectors.
Lead the recruitment and onboarding of return-to-retail collection services, including but not limited to: Completion of the necessary paperwork, registration etc. Managing insurance and lease issues Coordination of supplies to current collection sites Coordination of logistics and communications Routine follow up to ensure service quality and relationship building
Administration
Develop standard operating procedures for all aspects of role including those to support collection site/events recruitment and onboarding of new collection sites, collection events and direct pick-up services.
Develop best practices to support collection sites, collection events and direct pick-up service.
Lead the development of marketing materials to support recruitment functions, collaborating with Communications and other departments to coordinate messaging and recruitment outreach.
Manage the completion of compliance and all necessary paperwork required for collection site set-up, changes and closures.
