Maintenance Technician Mowi is seeking a motivated, safety-focused Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Northampton Hatchery . This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual who enjoys problem-solving, working with a variety of equipment and systems, and contributing to the success of a world-leading aquaculture company.
About the Role In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day maintenance operations at the hatchery. This includes preventative and corrective maintenance, responding to equipment breakdowns, utilizing predictive maintenance technologies, completing daily work orders, and providing technical support across the site. You will also assist with the development and continuous improvement of the maintenance program.
The role involves a wide variety of maintenance activities, including fibreglass repairs, well pump servicing and replacement, basic plumbing work, equipment maintenance, and general facility upkeep to ensure the hatchery operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to safe working practices, an understanding of health and safety requirements, and the ability to promote a positive safety culture within the workplace.
Key Responsibilities Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on hatchery equipment, systems, and infrastructure.
Diagnose faults and respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely and effective manner.
Perform fibreglass repairs on tanks, equipment, and site infrastructure.
Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and replace well pumps and associated systems.
Complete basic plumbing repairs and installations.




Utilize predictive maintenance technologies and techniques.
Complete and document daily work orders and maintenance activities.
Provide technical support and practical solutions to operational challenges.
Assist in the development and continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and programs.
Work safely at all times and ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
Identify hazards, report safety concerns, and actively contribute to maintaining a safe working workplace.
Support a positive team culture and contribute to the overall success of the hatchery.
Qualifications & Experience The ideal candidate will possess:
A Trade Qualification in a recognized Mechanical Red Seal trade, or 3-5 years of equivalent training and experience within an industrial environment.
Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
Experience with pumps, plumbing systems, fibreglass repairs, and general mechanical maintenance would be considered an asset.
Hatchery or aquaculture experience will be considered an asset.
An unrestricted Class 5 driver's licence valid in New Brunswick.
Good computer skills and the ability to work with maintenance management systems.
Strong communication, organizational, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.




A sound understanding of workplace Health & Safety requirements and a commitment to safe working practices.
The ability to assess risks and follow established safety procedures.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
A willingness to participate in Mowi's learning and development opportunities.
The physical capability to perform routine maintenance tasks.
The ability to work safely and effectively in challenging environmental conditions.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required.
Legal eligibility to work in Canada
