About Magical
Our agentic AI platform brings "AI employees" into the workplace to take over the repetitive, soul-crushing workflows that slow teams down. The result: organizations move faster, with sharper focus, and deliver better outcomes where it matters most, like improving patient care.

The shift to agentic work is inevitable, and we’re leading it. As a founding member of our team you’ll be shaping the playbook for the future of work alongside a small, relentless team pushing the edge of what’s possible with AI.

We're backed by the investors behind OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, and Notion, including Greylock, Coatue, Altman Capital and Lightspeed. The runway is long. The ambition is high. And the market is wide open.

About The Role
You’ll sit at the center of how Magical tracks and manages its money — what we're spending, what we're earning, and what we're owed. You'll help us make faster, sharper decisions by building the reporting that shows where the business stands, and help us stay disciplined by owning the day-to-day mechanics of collections, invoicing, and spend.

This is a role for someone who can both build a process where none exists and execute the day-to-day work once it does. You'll support monthly and quarterly expense analysis, ARR tracking and reporting, churn analysis, invoicing, collections, spend management through Ramp, and quarterly close alongside our external accountant. You'll become the person the team turns to when they need a straight answer on where the company's money is going and coming from.

What You’ll Do

Expense Analysis: Run monthly and quarterly expense analysis - where we're spending,

and why spend spiked or shifted

ARR Reporting: Build and maintain an ARR dashboard; track and report on ARR monthly and quarterly

Invoicing & Collections: Invoice customers and own the collections effort — follow up on receivables and drive resolution

Spend Management: Manage the spend program end-to-end: pay merchant invoices, allocate budgets and cards

Spend Policy: Design and continuously optimizcompany-wide spend

Churn Analysis: Track churn and identify trends

Book Close: Support quarterly book close, working directly with our external accountant

What We’re Looking For

Genuinely curious about the numbers: You don't wait to be asked why something moved — you go find out. Financial data is something you naturally gravitate toward, not something you tolerate.

Fast-paced and get-it-done: You operate with a real sense of urgency — equally willing to run a quarterly close and chase down a single overdue invoice.

Trusted and accurate: You know finance runs on accuracy and trust. You double-check your own work, flag issues before they become problems, and never let "close enough" slide on a number.

Continuous learning mindset: You're energized by building from the ground up - designing a process that doesn't exist yet, testing it,

and iterating as needed

Comfortable owning ambiguity: No one hands you a finished playbook. You bring structure to messiness problems and figure out the right process as you go.

A team player: You collaborate seamlessly across sales, ops, and leadership, and you communicate financial results in a way that gives the whole team clarity on where the business stands.

Requirements

1–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A;

Deep analytical skill set — comfortable going beyond surface-level reporting to dig into root causes; able to spot trends in noisy data, build financial models that hold up under scrutiny, and translate numbers into a clear narrative for decision-makers

Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Ramp or a similar spend management software, and CPQ software

Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (financial modeling, complex formulas)

Strong written and presentation skills — able to communicate financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders

Track record of both designing a process and running it — not just one or the other

Startup experience — comfortable with ambiguity and building process from scratch

What we offer

A chance to be an early team member at a fast-growing, ambitious company

The opportunity to push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI

A up-to-date stack and the latest tools to do your best work

Competitive salary and meaningful equity

Unlimited PTO

Fun team offsites, past trips include Iceland, Lisbon, Cancun, and Costa Rica
