Information Governance Analyst (12-Month Contract)
Location: Vancouver, CA

The Business Intelligencedepartmentis responsible forenabling the Enterprise Data & Analytics Strategy across the organization. In doing so,itprovides unified approaches, tools & standards encompassing allfacetsofSeaspan'sdataand information management needs. BusinessIntelligenceworks collaboratively withthelines of business and corporate functions in rolling out the data transformation program across the organization.
Reporting to the Data Governance Lead, the Information Governance Analyst will execute data governance and enterprise content management (ECM) program priorities and support the delivery of measurable business outcomes through data-driven decision-making.
The role will implement Seaspan's data and information governance framework and will be responsible for improving information integrity, accessibility, quality, privacy, and compliance across all business units. The Information Governance Analyst plays a facilitative role helping business users understand their responsibilities when it comes to creating, handling, and managing both structured and unstructured content throughout the information lifecycle. As an advocate for data and information governance at Seaspan, the Information Governance Analyst must be a strong communicator and collaborator who can align data and ECM initiatives with business goals and regulatory requirements.
This is a twelve month contract role based 5 days per week out of our downtown Vancouver, BC office.
Job Responsibilities:
Support delivery of theCompany’sData Governance and Enterprise Content Management programs by operationalizing approved policies, standards, procedures, roles, and lifecycle controls across structured and unstructured information assets.
Synthesize business requirementstodesign andupdateinformation architectures for enterprise content repositories. This includes buildinginformationtaxonomies, classification models,metadata schemas,document library/folder structures,and other structures that improve content access, searchability, usability, and governance.
Buildcontent inventories and repository assessments toidentifyrisk,ownership, sensitivity, retention needs, metadata requirements, redundant or obsolete content, and readiness for migration, automation, or retention control implementation.
Support implementation of records management and retention requirements by translating approved retention schedules into system-specific classification, retention, preservation, disposition, and audit trail requirements.
Coordinate Data Owners, Content Owners, Data Stewards,andContent Champions tosupport adoption ofaccountabilitiesandresponsibilitiesand ensure data governanceand ECMrequirements are embedded into daily operations and project delivery.
SupportData Stewardsand Content Championswithunderstanding their responsibilities, including documenting business definitions, sensitivity,definition ofcritical data elements, business rules, data quality needs,access management,and other dimensionsvia theapproved governance tools and repositories.
Partner with technical teams tosupport ensuring technicaldesignsalign with approved governance, privacy, records management, and information security requirements.
Monitor adherence to the Data and AI Governance framework byproducingreports, dashboards, and KPIs.
Supportthe success ofAI initiativesbyassessingdata and information suitability and implementing necessary controls to protect and surface content accurately.
Coordinatecompletion ofdata and informationgovernance prioritiesthroughout theprojectdeliverylifecycle. This includes supporting data governance assessments,privacy impact assessments, data quality assessments, AI governance assessments, andothers.
Develop andmaintainprocedures, templates, quick reference guides, communications, and other materials that supportallemployeesunderstandingof data and information governance fundamentals.
Deliver training, communications, and change management support for Data Owners, Data Stewards, Data Citizens,
and other stakeholders tosupportadoption of governance practices and responsiblebehaviours.
Support continuous improvement of governance maturity byidentifyinggaps, recommending practical improvements, tracking actions and decisions, and staying current with leading practices in data governance, ECM, records management, metadata management, and AI-enabled content management.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Minimum3years' experience in data governanceor informationmanagement,including experience implementingenterprise content management controls and hands-on work with solutions.
DegreeinInformation Management,Data Management,Archival Studies,ora related field.
Strong understanding of dataand informationgovernance frameworks,information architectures,relatedtools, and best practices.
Experience working in both a technical and business context; able to translate technical concepts into easy-to-understand business language.
Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Keen to take initiative.
Ability todrivechange initiativesto build adata ownershipculture, including by delivering training and supporting individual users.
Strategic thinking,systems orientation, and root-cause analysisskills.
Professional certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) orsimilar would be nice to have.
Compensation and Benefits Package:
Seaspan's total compensation is based on our pay-for-performance philosophy that rewards team members who deliver on and demonstrate our high-performance culture. The hiring range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000 CAD per annum. The exact base salary offered will be commensurate with the incumbent's experience, job-related skills and knowledge, and internal pay equity.
