Position: Supervisor, Support Services Department: AS Housekeeping Position Status: Permanent Time Type: Part time Non-Union Location: Peterborough, ON Language: English Salary Range: $44.60 - $55.76 per hour

Hours of Work The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.
What You’ll Do The Support Services Shift Supervisor is a member of the Environmental / Nutrition Services management team. This individual provides direction, leadership, support, and guidance in the day-to-day activities of the Environmental Services staff which includes Housekeeping, Waste and Linen Activities and the Nutrition Services staff. The Shift Supervisor facilitates the performance of all duties in accordance with Hospital and departmental policies and procedures, to ensure that all areas of the hospital are maintained in a clean and orderly condition and supervises all aspects of the patient meal services ensuring quality food, temperatures, and timely delivery. This person will also be involved in planning and problem solving within the Environmental Services and Nutrition Services Department.



The Supervisor acts with discretion within well-defined procedures/practices e.g. determine priorities; may deviate from established procedures/practice provided standards are met. Shift Supervisors act for the manager on a particular shift and are accountable for that shift’s operations.
What You’ll Bring Current membership with related association (Canadian Society of Nutrition Management, Food Handlers Certificate, Nutrition Management Certification or related courses preferred). Current membership with related association (Canadian Society of Nutrition Management, Food Handlers Certificate). Completion of OHA Housekeeping Supervisor’s Course, OHA Executive Housekeeper’s course.
WHO YOU ARE:
Minimum two years’ experience as a supervisor, preferably in a health care setting, or equivalent education and work experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation.
Computer literacy skills including proficiency and knowledge of various computer programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Internet/Intranet.
Interpersonal Sensitivity: demonstrated ability to understand and appropriately respond to the concerns of others, practicing active listening when interacting with individuals or groups and the ability to reflect on verbal and non‑verbal behaviour and communicate effectively.
Collaboration: demonstrated ability to build links across and outside the organization.
Impact & Influence: demonstrated ability to indirectly influence others to gain support and commitment.
Organizational Awareness: demonstrates organizational awareness with a clear sense of organizational impact.
