About the Opportunity
The IMIT Business Program Manager, Registration, Switchboard & Data Quality reports to the IMIT Director Registration, Scheduling and Switchboard and oversees provincial policy planning and implementation, data quality, project management, business project and contract management, to support of ongoing delivery of care across NS Health. The Business Program Manager is responsible to establish operational standards to align the IMIT strategy for Information Management including registration and data integrity, patient booking and scheduling, patient locating, hospital switchboard, and integration of technological solutions. The Business Program Manager has responsibility for implementation of information management practices required to develop, evaluate, and monitor programs and services and guide functional management in strategy implementation to achieve the goals and objectives of NS Health.
Lead the development of operational plans to meet goals and objectives and financial targets of the department
Maintaining provincial oversight while leading teams for information management and systems transformation
Overseeing the establishment of consistent operational practices including policies and procedures of the IMIT information management portfolio in collaboration with the Director and Senior Director
Assist clinical programs with information management requests for the purposes of data audits and quality review for health outcome monitoring across NS Health
Ensure information management best practice in accordance with provincial/federal legislation in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act and Personal Health Information Management Act.
Monitor and manage quality assurance of information by auditing, investigating, and reporting ensuring compliance standards and targets of NS Health
Address clinical inquiries related to information standards, reporting and legislation.
Lead NS Health registration processes that impact financial revenue or third-party billing
Understand current information and technology systems in place across the NS Health with the focus in level setting to ensure standards and access to system is standardized and equitable.
Provide oversight to a consolidated team ensuring resources are in place to support efficient and accurate data quality of information management for NS Health
Provide provincial direction for call management practices and systems solutions including determining opportunities for improvement and standardization.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
Master’s degree an asset, preferably in a health or leadership field
Minimum of 7 to 10 years’ progressive leadership experience with information management in an organization of significant size and/or complexity
Leadership Program or Management Certificate and a minimum of seven (7) years progressive leadership experience required
Diploma in Information Management with 10 plus years of information management experience required
Current registration with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CHIMA) required
Certified Health Executive and/or Certified Skilled in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) designation an asset.
Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or organizational change management certification an asset.
Strong understanding of the complexities in the delivery of health care across the continuum of care.
CCHSA Accreditation knowledge and experience.
Thorough knowledge of the ICD 10 - CCI coding classification and analysis.
Thorough knowledge and experience of the CIHI Management Information System (MIS).
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
Knowledge of Department of Health & Canadian Institute of Health Information (CIHI) information requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders using a variety of methods.
Experience in system planning, policy development and program evaluation, data analysis, project management and system performance management
Excellent influencing skills and experience leading teams to effect organizational change
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Approximately 24 months
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Scale Type: Management Band: 6 Hourly Rate: $53.59 - $65.65 Annual Salary: $104,500 - $128,017
