Duties
We are currently seeking a talented individual to join Student Support Services team. Reporting to the Manager of Student Support Services, the School Psychologist delivers a wide range of psychological services to students in Yukon's public school system. Duties include:

determining students' functioning in school settings,

recommending approaches to address academic, intellectual and social-emotional / behavioural differences in a culturally safe and client-centred way,

providing consultations, conducting psycho-educational assessments and training staff,

supporting interventions and assisting with program development for students,

working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support educators, parents, and caregivers in understanding student strengths and clearly communicating a pathway to address students' special educational needs.

Significant Application Requirements
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Currently registered as a psychologist in a Canadian province/territory, with eligibility to register as a psychologist in Yukon.

Master's or Doctorate degree specializing in psychology

Recent experience providing psycho-educational assessments and programming for school-aged clients, including review of records, interviews,



clinical observations and standardized tests (including Level C assessments)

Recent experience providing consultation to students, parents and staff within a public school system in response to intervention and/or multi-tiered systems of support model

Recent experience in being part of a multidisciplinary diagnostic or clinical support team for complex diagnoses would be an asset

Training and experience in supervision would be an asset.

Fluency in the French Language would be an asset.

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Conditions Of Employment

Be registered as a psychologist in the Yukon, prior to starting work;

Security Clearance (Vulnerable Sector Check) prior to starting work;

A valid driver's license is required for this position, as it requires providing support to various schools.
