Join the Aerospace Research Centre as a Thermal Imaging Specialist in Ottawa. This full-time role focuses on innovative thermal imaging research for NRC aircraft, including drones.
In this position, you will play a vital role in enhancing full-scale aircraft autonomy at the NRC. The successful candidate will evaluate data from sensor payloads, collaborating with specialists in Earth observation and ISR to derive insights from thermal data. You will conduct applied research to interpret thermal imagery efficiently and contribute to critical technical documents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Select and validate thermal imaging systems
• Calibrate and configure thermal imagers for missions
• Georeference thermal imagery from aircraft
• Extract actionable data from gathered thermal images
• Collaborate with team members for resource optimization
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Physics, or Geophysics
• Bachelor’s degree may also be considered
• Robust background in thermal imaging principles
• Experience with sensor technology and data analysis
• Commitment to advancing autonomous flight missions
