What You'll Do
As a trusted partnerto the business, you will:
Maintain and continuously improve Excel Homes' COR-certified Health & Safety Management System.
Partner with operational leaders to ensure safety is integrated into how work gets done.
Conduct site inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and compliance reviews.
Lead incident investigations and identifypractical solutions that prevent recurrence.
Coach, mentor, and support employees, supervisors, and trade partners.
Support COR audits, Joint Health & Safety Committee activities, and regulatory compliance.
Provide guidance on WCB claims management, return-to-work planning, and modified work programs.
Monitor legislative changes and recommend continuous improvements.
Maintain a strong field presence across Alberta, including periodic travel to Edmonton.

You'rea relationship builder with a strong safety foundation.
You understand the realities of construction and know that safety is most effective when it is practical, collaborative, and embedded in daily operations. You can influence without authority, communicate with confidence, and strike the right balance between coaching and accountability.
You are not interested in being the "safetypolice," nor are you willing to compromise standards in the name of production. Instead, you work with teams to find solutions that protect people, support compliance, and keep projects moving forward.
Qualifications
Required:
5+ years of progressive Health & Safety experience
Construction industry experience
CRSP, NCSO, equivalent designationor working towards
Strong knowledge of Alberta OH&S; legislation
Valid Class 5 Driver'sLicenseand clean driver's abstract
Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
COR administration and audit experience
Experience supporting WCB and return-to-work programs
