Your Opportunity:

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide protected, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4):

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of one year of recent critical care nursing experience, supported by relevant critical care education and training. In addition, candidates must have at least one year of current experience as a Registered Nurse working in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Applicants must demonstrate strong clinical judgement, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, with the ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity, and emergent situations. A proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team is essential. Be able to wear a lead apron for extended periods. Be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. (23 kg). Tolerate prolonged standing and walking throughout the workday. Frequently assist patients with repositioning, transfers, standing, and ambulation. Participate in hands-on patient care, including the care of bariatric patients. Perform repetitive tasks, including extended periods of computer and keyboard use. Regularly bend, twist, stoop, and move quickly within the clinical environment. Work effectively in a busy, dynamic, and occasionally noisy setting. Successful candidates will be required to complete a comprehensive orientation program for both the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) and the Cardiac Recovery Room (CRR). The orientation period is approximately 10 - 12 weeks in duration, during which full-time availability is required. Preferred Qualifications:

Current certification and demonstrated competency in: Defibrillation. Electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation. Temporary pacemaker management. Advanced hemodynamic monitoring (Ballon Pump). Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Experience using Connect Care. Experience with procedural sedation.
