AGT Foods is seeking a Canada Health and Safety Manager to join our Corporate Safety Team at our Head Office in Regina, SK.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage the implementation of Safety Programs and ensure all legislative and regulatory requirements are met
- Provide safety leadership to all safety reps, committees, management and employees and other affected groups in the implementation of safety programs
- Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, or near-misses
- Research and make recommendations for fostering safety culture
- Perform routine inspections and audits of workplaces in Canada
- Evaluate practices, procedures, equipment and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law - propose budget allocations to locations/equipment based on safety risk
- Create and present safety communications that foster an awareness of health and safety practices (bulletins, webinars, events, summits and meetings)
- Prepare safety analytics (KPIs, Occurrence Stats etc)
- Any other duties required from time to time or as requested by management to help foster safety culture and compliance within the company
Skills and Abilities
- Industry credentials such as Certified Safety Qualified (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety (OHST) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and job experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on safety management experience
- Competency in identifying risk and conducting risk-based decision making
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to affect positive behavior in others
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel within Canada (Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta)
- Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
